Harbour Highlight: designboom January 2024

Aussie Cool Arrives In Snowy Aspen With Après-Ski Lounge

We’re delighted that designboom shared their experience of Harbour House at the St. Regis Aspen this season. And according to them, it was a match made in snowy heaven: “It’s the combination of outdoor living, modern design, and togetherness which defines the spirit of Harbour and what makes Harbour House so well-suited for its home at The St. Regis Aspen.”

For us, getting out into nature and incorporating it into design has always been part of our ethos. Our founders Harrison and Nicholas Condos have been skiing since the age of fourteen — and many don’t know, but as the article points out, there are actually five (yes, five!) major ski resorts in Australia.

designboom notes: “Their collection back at Harbour House [was] specially curated for its snowy setting. Aluminum-framed seating upholstered in dark tones together with teak coffee tables are thoughtfully scattered throughout the Après-ski Courtyard of The St. Regis Aspen. The whole scene is backdropped by the hotel‘s historic brick architecture, which frames trees topped with puffs of fresh snow, and the powdery slopes just beyond.”

At Harbour, we live for moments of togetherness. Nicholas says, “Our main focus is durability, comfort, and bringing people together outside, whether it’s around a fire pit or a dining table.” designboom experienced “the feeling of an indoor living room out [in] nature,” and that’s exactly what we imagined when we began this collaboration.

Our favorite ultra-durable materials like powder-coated aluminum, teak, rope, performance upholstery and travertine stone are always at the heart of our designs. designboom explains: “This means that each piece can withstand not just Aspen’s harsh winter climates, but also its raucous après-ski parties.” Honestly, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
